Hollywood lands at the Castle of Miramare

Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in Trieste from the 17^th to the 28^th of April for THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD.

The city of Trieste announces an Easter full of stars, from 17^th to 28^th April it will be possible to meet in the streets of the Italian city the Hollywood that includes Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson (to whom we may add Morgan Freeman). These absolute masters of international big rooms are here for the filming of THE HITMAN’S WIFE BODYGUARD, which is the sequel to the 2017 film which has grossed $ 180 million worldwide.

Trieste is a very popular location for directors, but it has always remained mostly anonymous. Only recently, with the Rai TV series LA PORTA ROSSA, the city has become an awesome scenario, thanks to its unusual beauty and the foresight of authors such as Carlo Lucarelli and Giampiero Rigosi. And now, whole world will recall its name, so the takes shot in Trieste may be anticipated by the TRIESTE – ITALY indication on the screen, in perfect James Bond style.

Shooting has already begun in London, then they will move to Croatia, to end up in Trieste. In fact, on April the 17^th, 23^rd and 24^th the troupe will be based at Miramare’s Castle, which will remain closed on those days for the outdoor takes, but in the meanwhile, the indoor takes will be those of the Palazzo della Prefettura in Piazza Unità. In fact, on April the 17^th you will have the opportunity to meet the crew in the city center as well. But also on April the 25^th they’re back at the Prefettura. On April the 26^th it will be the turn of the Old Port, and the next days again in Piazza Unità until the 28^th, with a night scene in the “Palazzo di Vetro” (Palace of Glass) of the Municipality in Largo Granatieri.

So why not taking an eye on a live filming set full of international stars? This is a unique opportunity. Piazza Unità d’Italia, the largest square in the world facing the sea, together with the magic of a true Hollywood set all in one time. It is certainly a good reason not to miss anything of it.

On the one hand Miramare’s Castle will be closed for three days and the staff at the Front Desk of the Hotel Letterario will work to advise you on the best solutions to make your stay memorable and unique. And as in Trieste we are very fortunate to have not only one, but 3 castles to be seen, it will be possible to visit the Castle of San Giusto and the Castle of Duino beloved by Rilke, in the days when the Castle of Miramare will be the Hollywood scenario.

Alternatively, we suggest a trip on the CARSO area to discover its huge caves such as the Grotta Gigante or the Torri di Slivia, and the delicacies that are eaten in the Osmize, places that are only found on the CARSO across the area of Trieste. As of imperial origins, unique experiences may give you the access to private homes and consume what they produce, from cold cuts, to wines and fresh vegetables.
